Ginger Kawamaji canted her head to the side for a moment, and pondered this, but it left the moral woman just a bit more than confused.
"But.. the other day.. you mentioned that you were too empty to talk... I.. er.. thought that meant that there was something amiss... thus my query as to whether you were able to resolve said.. er.. emptyness?"
An eerie sigh echoed around them; dark gaze keeping a hold on the creature's face. Ninette's voice came as a disembodied whisper.
"How do you resolve an emptiness?"
Ginger Kawamaji looked up into the Jesterette's eyes and pondered this for a moment, fearing that her answer might be too obvious.
"Fill it with something.. then it will not be empty any longer..."
Ninette allowed for a chuckle to resonated into the air though the soft musical was void of humor; its tone hollow.
"Exactly." Was her abrupt respond.
Ginger Kawamaji gave a slight little whimper, finding that one of the things she enjoyed most about spending time with this odd friend, was that she could never know how her words would be taken, often in fantastic and twisted ways, the reaction was always unpredictable.
"Well, then... I suppose I should ask if you are able to find anything to fill said emptyness with so that it is no longer lacking for something to fill it."
Ninette's obsidian pools shimmered for a moment; a fleeting emotion showing itself as she continues to hold the creature's gaze. Could it be humor? Or simply tolerance.
"It's not something that can be simply filled." She finally spoke.
A small shiver moved through Ginger as her gaze was held, though a dark humour moved through her, and she could not resist making the comment, despite the danger that she could be heading into.
"Not simple eh? I suppose you would need a nice mortal virgin soul to fill it then yes?"
The humor, if it was that, flickered for a moment longer before the dark, bottomless mirrors recovered to their dark, unfathomable state.
"You assume too much.." She answered then; a sliver of irritation evident in her voice.
A wry grin moved over Ginger's face as she canted her head to the side for a moment, pondering the sweet words of the dark one. She then spoke once more, her head, her pose, her gaze all looking so innocent, betraying her playful neature.
"You mean it need not be a virgin soul?"
Obsidian eyes hardened into frozen pools; a quiet growl vibrating somewhere within her cold chest. Ninette turned abruptly, tearing her gaze away from the creature to stare blindly into a darkened corner. Her slender, petite form, growing rigid; dainty digits curling, clenching into fists at her sides.
"Do not push your luck too far. I have very little self-control these days. You will not want to leave this mortal world so young an age, would you?." She replied; her gaze returned to the creature sharply; as if they never left her at all.
Ginger Kawamaji's ears lowered against the top of her head as that body began to grow rigid, a chill moving through her bones. She had never seen such a reaction in the woman before. She had always known that it was dangerous to be around her, even back to the days when she had first met her Mother, and known of the crystal, and what this little marionette had used it for, but she had never seen something liks this, and it left her simply speechless.
The soft sigh resonated once again; yet not quite as forlorn as before. It was as if the dark spirit was appeased by the creature's response. The jesterette shuddered in the wake of the emanation, reveling in the aura of fear coming from the creature standing before her. Eyes roamed the furry features then; curving of the corners of painted lips faintly visible]
"Do I scare you?" The disembodied whisper echoed around them.
Ginger Kawamaji whimpered softly and found herself taking a step backward, not paying attention, her large paw-like feet stumbling over a stone, sending her tumbling onto her rear, squeaking like a lowly rodent as she fell her tail and ears going every way, then looking about frantically, trying to stand up and regain her compsoure as if nothing had happened, slipping her sandles back on.
"I.. uh.. er...." She didn't want to admit it.
The dark pools upon flawless features rippled; as if in laughter, while keeping their hold on the creature's gaze. And in that very moment, a laughter would be heard permeating the air; devoid of humor. A moment later, she was bent over the sprawled mortal; flawless features dangerously close; baring sharp canines.
"I.. uh.. er?" She mocked the creature; humorless laughter continued to echo around them. "I suppose what you're trying to say is that you are scared. Very scared from the looks of it." And then she was gone; only to appear on the spot she had occupied not a few seconds before.
Those crimson eyes went wide, her golden tan form beginning to pale, until it looked as though she was made of dessert sand, her breath catching in her throat, her squeak choked off as those fangs came close, her heart thundering in her chest, body quivering, trying to moveto cover her bare neck, but finding herself frozen. Even after the other creature had moved to her original position, this little furred one found that it took all her efort to compose herself and begin to get to her feet once more.
