Matthew : How long had the circus been in town. There were no signs or advertisements regarding its coming, but it just suddenly arrived without a single cloud to warn of its approach. The Big Top standing like a beacon to the curious and perverse of though, with caravans and smaller enclosures dotted around in a circular pattern around it. They covered the entire recreation grounds, and with the casual placement of amusement rides and games. One would have assumed they had always been there. There were performers dancing in the streets, Contortionists performing, bending together as though within a snake ball. Limbs reaching and twisting provocatively as they moved apart and back together in new and more intriguing shapes. The lights were slowly coming on along the pavilion as night drew nearer.(c)
Animals being led through the wide walkway, with smaller tents at either side of the sauntering creatures. An elephent walking casually behind a pair of cavorting clowns, both of whom seemed to be sharing in a secret game of cat and mouse around over and beneath the great beast. As the sun moved lower into twilight. There were more activities that required doing. A slightly roguish looking gent swept the ground briskly with a wide broom. He was obviously adept as he never met one place more than once. As twilight met the inevitable sunset the crowds outside stopped as though frozen in time. Eyes transfixed upon the glowering ball of flame that lowered to the horizon. Their eyes glimmering with intensity as the last few splintered shards of sunlight were lost to the night. At the(c)
exact moment of sundown. There was a thud from somewhere as though something had opened and the cheers and carnival music began to play. Now every light switched on and the rides began to come to life. The carousel rocking into action. The ferris wheel turning like time, and the visitors entering. Looking around in awe and wonder at the carnivale. Inside each of the smaller buildings there would be another attraction with a perverse twist to suit the essence of the Cour de Farceurs. Each room open and welcoming to passers by. Out of one, an translucent blue glow emanated. Within this enclosure one would find what would appear to be a normal small stage for acrobatics and performance, but there was no performer to be found.Only a large tank filled with ice blue water. Eerily silent,(c)
like breath held for too long.(e)
Chloe : Not only had word went through the town like wildfire of a circus springing up overnight, but along with it came the carnival. Chloe` was one of them children who during her childhood found these very two things to be horrifying alone, but together, and as an adult, a shiver ran up and down her body and coursed through her veins. she heard people talking it up and getting it hyped. she seemed to look a little worried. She was working in eyes shot of the hell that had taken over the lower south side of town. she gulped trying to ignore it AND the people who were so excited about it. but all that ran through her mind as she worked hard serving tables and taking orders was, how would she get home?
She lived just on the other side of the very field the festivities had taken over. And unlike getting to work on the bus in a hurry, she would be working late till long after the buses had stopped running and she would need to trek through the field... or around. but close to it none the less. She shivered when the doors opened each time a patron came and went and the music loomed from across the way and into the diner. again her body shook. she was still so fearing of such things although years had passed and her age had near tripled. her eyes would continue to ignore the goings on as much as she could. but, curiosity always got the better of her...
She looked over as the sun fell and the lights took over. her eyes darted to the clock... she dreaded the end of work. something she never did.(e)
Matthew : ~As she walked cautiously through the circus, a couple walked by clutching eachother close. Eyeing everything and everyone suspiciously with wide eyed fear.~ "That was NOT a trick Josh, it was her!" ~The man visibly twitched but shook his head. Licking his dried lips to speak~ "Don't be silly. Nothing like that is real, it's all an illusion..." ~His voice was shaken though, as if he wanted to believe what he said but all the while. The image he could not get out of his head. Those eyes... He looked his fiance in the eyes seriously for a moment as they walked, not watching where he was going.~ "He was blind, wasn't he?" ~Bumping into Chloe, they panicked and almost fell over~ "Agh no! Please, oh." ~Looking up at the girl, they righted themselves and looked her over~(c)
"W-watch where you're going.." ~The girl obviously spoke to her fiance, but he eyed Chloe as though she were to blame.~ "I swear, let's just get home and forget what we saw. Lady, whatever you do, don't go near that blue room. It's f**ked up..." ~With that he felt a tug on his arm as the woman gave chloe a warm but forced smile~ "Sorry. Enjoy the circus."(e)
Chloe : she was nervous as she walked though the open field. she shivered arms hugging herself as she looked around. since it was so late and there were lights... she figured this route would be... safer. she trembled and looked around. it was completly nerve wracking to walk through this place. the music the lights... then, BAM. she gasped and backed up as she seen the couple. in their eyes she seen fear, just like in hers but more so. they seemed... troubled. and oddly... she found herself instantly reminded of, Lucas. She didn't say anything to the couple as they went off, her head was in a new cloud of worry. from fear to sadness as she recalled the many dates and the fun she had had just a short year ago.
it seemed so long ago to her since she last saw that smiling face. heard the joy filled laugh and held that warm hand that always pulled her closer and held her tightly. she sighed as she aimlessly wandered the fairgrounds of the carnival and circus tents. she was heading home yes, but somehow had fallen off track while her mind flooded with memories of her beloved. Suddenly surrounded in blue lights she paused and looked up and around trying to figure out where exactly it was she had stumbled into. she pouted and spun around seeking the exit... but... she sure didn't see one. "...Oh god... please.... no... " <e>
Matthew : ~The room was open and eerie, silent and yet it appeared to be sentient and waiting. The feelings from within the tank seaped into every crevace of the enclosure. Giving it an all round melancholic aura. On the circular stage there were blades, balls and other paraphernalia used in entertaining. The most central item being the largest, the glass tank that glowed shimmering blue throughout the room due to specific lighting arrangements, and ofcourse a little bit of magic. In the depths of the tank a dark shape began to come into view, slowly growing denser as it drew closer. Coming towards the front of the tank to meet the guest. Cream toned skin becoming clear through the glass as he swam through the icy water fluidly. Ebony tail fin washing like the tide sent him spiralling (c)
magestically through the clear blue with effortless motions, slender arms stretched out, lithe manouvers to follow the current of his own momentum. He creating an ouroboros. His back arching with ease, showing slim muscular tone as he performed for her. Twisting his body ever nearer he emulated a figure of eight. His face coming more into focus. With feathery ivory hair dancing weightlessly as he floated before her. A solemn face watched her blindly, with a crimson blindfold covering his eyes, but she would feel a deeper more penetrating gaze upon her as his body glimmered against the light. The scales taking on many colours of the spectrum, while remaining true to their essence. Darkness.(e)
Chloe : Her eyes were locked, transfixed on the sight before her. she was unable to turn back and away. she couldn't move, she couldn't pull away. she felt an unease of fear within the pit of her stomach and then slowly begin to spread throughout her entire body, her breathing started to speed up and her eyes welled up as she stood staring wide eyed at the display before her. under her breath as she breathed she began to pray. <e>
Matthew : ~Slowly weaving his tail beneath him, he held himself at eye level. His blind stare delving deeper into her mind like a mime pulling on a rope, easing out the desired effect. The ghostly glistening began to scintillate from the tip of his fin, sending ripples across his physique that caused his form to fade slightly into a blur. Coming into focus again, he seemed taller. More built with shorter hair, and bright green eyes. It was Lucas, the telltale smile that showed her it was truely him. He looked after her longingly, mouthing for her to come closer.~(e)
Chloe : She closed her eyes shaking her head as the vision before her began to fade and seem to transform. she sobbed crying out, but she had no one to cry for. As her eyes opened she was taken back as the image in front of her sent her heart into her throat choking her up. she brought her hands to her face and covered her mouth. She shook her head and closed her eyes again. heavy tears rolling down her cheeks as her mind flooded over again with the memories she had shared with him, with Lucas. Her eyes opened looking back to the tank, one hand let go of her mouth and moved over her heart. " ...Lucas... Lucas... oh dear god... Lucas.... Please.... am I imagining things.... " her hand clenched at her heart harder as she closed her eyes dropping to her knees. "ohh god... please god... please, please(e)
Matthew : ~His smile remained though carved in wax and his body rolled, following her descent to her knees. He spoke silent words through the water assuring her it was him. That there was nothing to be afraid of. That it was magic, and no harm would come to her. His eyes purest emerald, glistening in the sheer blue called out to his love to come nearer. Placing his hand against the side of the tank. Yearning for her touch.~(e)
Chloe : She looked up and pulled herself up and over to the tank, she was unable to tear her eyes away from him anymore. she was sobbing softly, her hand on the glass as she shook her head and looked into the blue and finding them greens. she began to hyperventilate. her head shook and she pushed on the glass. her hand balling into a fist punching at it. "...I miss you..." she sobbed more. " I need you still.... please don't leave me ever again." <e>
Matthew : ~His hand held upon hers on the cold glass he tilted his head some at her words, questioning what she meant with a slightly malevolent taint to his sweety smile. Growing more sickly with each passing moment of her closeness. The longing caused for tears to come down from his eyes, yet as the tears breached his lids, the dark tinge around his sockets began to weep. Dripping down like sooty tears on a much lighter shade of skin. The previous soft tanned flesh began to appear more opaque, whiter. His wide lipped grin growing redder and thicker through the water. The taint around his eyes deepening into dark soulless sockets, with only the blackest of ebony orbs eyeing her possessively, obsessively from beneath the water. Aching and longing for her, as she desired him to stay. To never (c)
leave her. He tilted his head up to the top of the tank that was open for him with an open mouthed grin. Lowering his gaze to her now the mutation was complete. What she was looking at was her lover, Lucas melted into a sinister macabre clown. Yellowed crooked teeth twisted into a devlish smirk as he slithered up along the glass, the tailfin seeming more like an insideous snakes tail. Breaching the tank he extended her lovers arms to either side in a victorious display. The previously toned muscles wretched and rotten. Taking himself down the outside of the tank torturously slow he did not move directly towards her, as she would most likely fear, but go to the stage, swayng his hips with every movement of his lower snake half. He would coil himself into what would appear to be a(c)
sitting position and, reaching out would pull up three schimitars, the heavy blades being held up in a display to show they were truely sharp blades. The light shining of their edges. Raising them high above his head with a single clash the blue would fade into an amber glow and tapers around the edges of the room would ignite. A strange and slow exotic tune began to play as if from nowhere as he began to juggle the blades. Behind his back and infront at the same time. causing them to circle him precariously close to slicing his bare limbs on every pass. Darkness taking the areas inbetween the wicked blazing braziers to an abyss of true darkness. Where shadowy tendrils would reach out to grasp her. The icy touch of those tendrils would be enough to send a deathly frost through her(c)
bones, and cause her blood to run cold. The only warmth and light would be centered upon the circular stage on which he sat, undulating as though digesting faces contorted in agony. Ghoulish apparitions appearing pressed up against his scaley flesh, moaning in frozen torment. All the while his freakish face tormenting her with her memories. Gaping at her with those endless blackholes for eyes.(e)
