Here's the improved storyline. Comments please. =P
~~~
In a world parallel to our own exist Phara'Sythalis; a small world… a realm of magic. Over countless millennia, it prospered and became the central universe where scholars from all existing realms gather to share or further their studies in the Magical arts. Those who arrived at the highest level of magic were then allowed to dwell amongst the god/goddesses; playing aide to the guardians of divine powers and therefore becoming immortal.
The lesser gods/goddesses despised the intrusion of these 'humans' to their world; seeing them as nothing more than greedy leeches, sucking the very power of the Heavens and thus brought about civil war with the guardians of these lesser beings. The guardians seeing no other solution sealed the entrance to the Heavens to silence the battle cries. They drove a slate through the horizon, separating the world, obscuring the stars forever.
Once this transpired, Morion the Dark Lord, who had been imprisoned for ages, reawakened from his deep slumber and took control of the darkened world. He called upon his minions from the deep recesses of the Shadow realm to rise and plague the world. When the wars between the gods and goddesses were near its end... the world was already torn by evil minions of the Dark Lord of the Abyss...
So the guardians called upon the wielders of the four ancient elements, Earth, Fire, Water and Air that make up the world from their corners to dispose of the minions of the Dark Lord, to rid the world of their disease and bring order to the ravaged world.
Within each kingdom there exist an order of men and women called the "summoners" who can learn to harness their inborn talent and manipulate their native element by combining martial art and elemental magic. In a generation, four summoners will be incarnated within each Kingdom; each capable of controlling their native elements and will learn to use their unique powers in accordance to their pre-destined path. But of all the summoners, only one will be the sole wielder of all four elements.
That summoner is the chosen one; the Aratar or Champion of the elements, spirit of the world incarnated and manifests in human form. Starting with the mastery of his or her native element, the Avatar learns to master all four elements and serve to keep the four kingdoms in harmony.
When the slate was driven across the sky, the last Aratar was summoned to keep order to the world. However, during the rebirth of evil into the darkened world, the last Avatar was slain. And along with him a score of the summoners were eradicated and the rest driven to almost extinction.
With the absence of an Avatar, Morion has grown far more ambitious in his confinement, seeing his way to raze not only one world, but two. Thus he began to weave a lustful, treacherous lies into the minds of the elementals; corrupting the once neutral force to forge war against each other; to gain control of the other elements to enhance their own to become the next Aratar.
And one such Kingdom has fallen into the Dark Lord’s trap. Aran Naarec, an ancient summoner, heads the corrupted Kingdom of Fire to search and hunt for the remaining survivors of the order of Summoners.
In his lust for ultimate power, Aran Naarec was blinded to the implication of his betrayal. Once all of the elements were overcame, the Fire Avatar will then fall under the claws of the Dark Lord, thus completing his hold on Phara' Sythalis and the Middle Kingdom will be lost forever.
Before Lord Naarec and his leagues of Fire Knights eliminate them, the summoners must seek one another and combine forces to find the chosen one to wield the four elements. The spirit of the world within the Avatar will allow the Gods/Goddesses the means to clear the 'plague' that the Dark Lord had unleashed upon the world and once more seal the Adversary in the Abyss.
